Six heterodox teachers. A group of six non-Buddhist teachers often mentioned in Buddhist sūtras and criticized by the Buddha.[1]
The six teachers are:
- Pūraṇa-Kāśyapa
- Maskarin Gośālīputra
- Ajita-Keśakambala
- Kakuda Kātyāyana
- Sañjaya Vairāṭīputra
- Nirgrantha-Jñātīputra
The views of these six teachers are refuted in the Sāmaññaphala Sutta and other sutras.
