Heruka Galpo Tantra (T. dpal he ru ka'i thugs kyi rgyud gal po). One of the Eighteen Mahayoga Tantras, belonging to the cyle of Viśuddha heruka, symbol of awakened mind.[1]
This text is one of the source texts for Jigme Lingpa's Staircase to Akanishtha.[2]
McLeod and Guarisco state:
- ... the Galpo Tantra's presentation of the phase of completion, as outlined by Kongtrul, gives a remarkably clear picture of what that phase entails and its salient points, which encompass the styles of completion phase practices of both the father and mother tantras.[1]
Both the Galpo and the Galpoche tantras are found in Vol. RA of the Nyingma Gyübum.[3]
Alternate titles
- gal po’i rgyud ("Galpo Tantra")[4]
- he ru ka gal po ("Heruka Galpo")[5]
- he ru ka gal po’i rgyud ("Heruka Galpo Tantra")[6]

Four manifestations of enlightenment
Cortland Dahl and Andreas Doctor state:
- According to Jigme Lingpa, the four manifestations of enlightenment comprise an approach to development stage meditation unique to the Heruka Galpo Tantra, in contrast to the more well-known five manifestations of enlightenment. These four are: 1) emptiness and the awakened mind, 2) the seed syllable, 3) the complete form of the deity, and 4) the placement of the seed syllable.[8]
