The four major holidays, or four great festivals, or anniversaries (Tib. དུས་ཆེན་, düchen, Wyl. dus chen) within Tibetan Buddhism are related to the life of Buddha Shakyamuni. On these days, the effects of positive or negative actions are said to be multiplied 10 million times.

The four holidays are:

  1. Chotrul Düchen, the 'Festival of Miracles'
  2. Saga Dawa Düchen, the 'Festival of Vaishakha'
  3. Chökhor Düchen, the 'Festival of Turning the Wheel of Dharma'
  4. Lha Bab Düchen, the 'Festival of the Descent from Heaven'
