Buddha Jayanti

Buddha Jayanti (also known as Buddha Purnima). The holiday celebrating the Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana in Nepal and India. This holiday/festival is known as Vesak in Southeast Asia and Saga Dawa Düchen in Tibetan Buddhism.

The date of the holiday is based on the Asian lunisolar calendars. The date varies from year to year in the Western Gregorian calendar, but usually falls in April or May. In leap years it may be celebrated in June.
