Buddhaguṇa

buddhaguṇa (T. sangs rgyas kyi yon tan). Translated as "enlightened qualities", "buddha qualities", "qualities of a buddha", etc.

Buddhaguṇa refers to the qualities of a buddha.

According to the Abhidharma tradition there are:

• eighteen unshared qualities of a buddha, and also
• thirty-nine qualities exclusive to a buddha.

The Abhisamayalankara enumerates:

• twenty-one sets of undefiled qualities.
